Oze Rentals is an Australian rental company providing electrical and furniture rentals to the home and business markets.

The initial start-up commenced in Hobart and has proved a very successful low cost operation. They have more prospective clients than they can supply to, which is a nice problem to have.

The distinct difference between Oze Rentals and other market competitors is that an Oze Rentals franchise does not require either warehouse or showroom facilities, thereby eliminating a substantial overhead. Instead, Oze Rentals uses a system dubbed Choose, Call & Rent™, where the client chooses a product from a retail location or their choice, the client calls Oze Rentals who then purchases the product on their behalf, and Oze Rentals then rents the product to the client. This system allows their clients almost unlimited choice for their rentals, unlike with many rental companies that carry a specific and restricted product range.

Retailers that OzeRentals Pty Ltd has approached so far have been very willing to provide discount or highly competitive retail prices to Oze Rentals franchise owners due to the large volume of stock purchases each franchise makes in a year.

To own an Oze Rentals franchise, you will need:

  • A self-motivated, independent work attitude
  • The ability to talk to people from all walks of life
  • Full time work availability

You will receive full training on how to manage all aspects of the franchise operation.

Your initial fee for an Oze Rentals franchise is just $35,000 plus GST ($38,500) for your exclusive territory which includes a five year franchise term and four further five year franchise options.

This franchise package includes:

  • Your franchise and exclusive territory.
  • Advertising and marketing support (most Oze Rentals marketing is managed centrally by head office).
  • An initial one week of training at head office, and in-territory induction.
  • Legal and documentation fees.
  • Initial start-up supplies including stationery, uniforms and associated items.
  • All franchise operations manuals.

Your ongoing royalty is 7.5% of turnover plus GST. You will need to allow for further legal costs, occasional fees of professional advisors and adequate operating capital. Due to the nature of the business you will need access to working capital of around $100,000 for the initial stages of the business and up to $200,000 subject to the sales growth of your new franchise.
